Bone Conduction Eyeglasses
Bone conduction devices are being used if you either have a conductive hearing loss or are unable to use conventional hearing aids for medical reasons.
Bone conduction hearing aids convert sounds to vibrations. These vibrations are transmitted via a vibrator with pressure on the bone behind the ear directly to directly stimulate the inner ear.
Bone conduction devices come in 3 styles. Eyeglasses (Bone Conduction Eyeglasses), head or hairband based devices or with body worn devices with headband vibrators.
Bone Conduction Eyeglasses are a sturdy metal or plastic frame with the electronic built into the eyeglass temple with the vibrator being at the end. The temple length is variable, to ensure that the vibrator reaches the right spot behind the ear. By adjusting the angle of the vibrator and the front, enough pressure can be produced for the vibrator to make enough contact with the bone to transmit the vibration effectively.
A variety of different frame sizes and designs for ladies and gentlemen and instruments in different colours are available to make the system cosmetically appealing.
